Mike
Mike Stenberg is a founding principal in the firm and has over twenty-five years of experience in a variety of civil infrastructure projects throughout Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming. He oversees the operations of the Bozeman office and brings a practical approach to every engineering project. Mike is one of Hyalite Engineers, PLLC principal project managers on municipal, water, wastewater, agricultural, ranch development, commercial site development, and general land development projects. He is a graduate of Montana State University with a B.S. in civil engineering and enjoys hunting, fishing and skiing; especially with his three children. He maintains a positive role within the community and volunteer’s numerous hours to local schools, assisting with fundraising, construction projects and coaching.

Cory Ravnaas, PE, CFM, LEED-AP

Cory
Cory Ravnaas is a founding principal at Hyalite and has over twenty-five years of experience in a variety of engineered infrastructure projects throughout the northwestern United States. Cory is a Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) and served on the Montana Association of Floodplain Managers board for two terms between 2003 and 2005. He is an experienced hydraulic modeler and has completed several floodplain delineation models in Montana and Colorado. Cory is currently the City Engineer for two small cities where he also serves as the floodplain administrator. Cory is a principal project manager on general municipal and infrastructure related projects and is familiar with a broad range of project types. Cory obtained a B.S. and a M. Engr. in civil engineering from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, ND in 1996 and 1997, respectively. He is professionally licensed in Montana, North Dakota, Minnestota, and South Dakota.

Matt Anderson, PE
PRINCIPAL STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

Matt Anderson has over twenty years of experience in a variety of structural engineered infrastructure projects throughout Montana and the northwest. He is familiar with all structural related aspects of commercial, residential, and industrial projects. Matt is Hyalite Engineers’, PLLC principal project manager on structural engineering projects. Matt obtained his M.S. in civil engineering with a structural engineering emphasis from Montana State University. Matt enjoys skiing, rafting, and camping with his wife and daughter.

Shannon Marinko, PLS
PRINCIPAL LAND SURVEYOR
Shannon
Shannon Marinko has been licensed in Montana since 2003 and Idaho and North Dakota since 2010 as a Professional Land Surveyor. Mr. Marinko graduated from Montana State University in 1995 with a B.S. in mechanical engineering technology. His primary efforts have been providing cadastral land surveying for both private and government clients. For the past 18 years Mr. Marinko has provided clients with not only project land surveyor skills, but also total project manager skills, as well as a depth of knowledge of cadastral surveys, construction surveys, subdivision and conventional surveys, and static GPS and RTK GPS survey methods. Mr. Marinko is also an active member of Montana Association of Land Surveyors, has served as the President for the local chapter of MARLS, and is currently is the Vice President of the state organization.

Jared LaBere, PE
BISMARCK OFFICE MANAGER
Jared
Jared brings his knowledge and experience in industrial construction and structural design to the Hyalite team and serves as the office manager and project manager in the Bismarck, ND branch. Jared graduated from North Dakota State University in 2012 with a B.S. in civil engineering and is a licensed professional engineer in ND. Since high school, Jared has worked on slip form crews and design-build teams to construct concrete silos such as inland grain terminals, coal silos, headframe shafts, and frac sand facilities. His prior experience working as an engineer for a general contractor will be invaluable towards developing client relationships and meeting project timelines. Jared currently serves in the ND National Guard and enjoys hunting, fishing, skiing, and traveling.

James Connolly, PE, PhD
PROJECT ENGINEER
James
James Connolly is a project engineer with experience in multiple aspects of civil engineering design, analysis and permitting. James has a strong background in engineering research and has authored multiple peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters on the topic of reactive transport processes in porous media affected by microbial biofilms. James is a published expert in computer modeling of fluid flow in soil and rock systems and has presented his work internationally on several occasions. His design experience combined with a background in research is a strong asset to projects with complex or poorly understood processes. In his free time, he and his family can be found rafting, skiing, biking or generally enjoying the wild places of Montana. James obtained a Ph.D. in engineering in 2015 from Montana State University and also holds an M.S. in environmental engineering and a B.S. in civil engineering.

Brett Megaard, PE

Brett Megaard is a civil project manager/engineer in the firm and has over nine years of experience in a variety of civil engineered infrastructure projects throughout Montana. He is familiar with all civil related aspects of municipal, residential, and commercial development projects. Brett is one of Hyalite's project managers on water, wastewater, and general land development projects. He was born and raised in Bozeman, graduating from both Bozeman High School and Montana State University with a B.S. in civil engineering.

Sarah Friederichs, PE
PROJECT ENGINEER
Sarah
Sarah Friederichs is a civil engineer in the firm and has been involved in all aspects of civil engineering projects including: water and wastewater design, storm water drainage, road design, site grading, permitting, and the preparation of construction plans and specifications. Sarah moved to Bozeman in 2009 from Minnesota to attend Montana State University where she graduated with a B.S. in civil engineering with a bio-resource emphasis. While at Montana State, Sarah was an active member of Engineers without Borders and traveled to Kenya twice to construct a rainwater catchment system and composting latrines. In her free time, she enjoys, fishing, hiking, and snowboarding.

Guro Lindgren, PE
STRUCTUAL ENGINEER
Guro
Guro Lindgren was born and raised in Norway, and came to Montana as an exchange student at Montana State University. She moved back to Bozeman after graduating from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in June of 2016 with a M.S. in structural engineering. Guro has been a structural engineer with the firm since January 2017, where she is designing new residential and commercial buildings as well as redesign of existing structures.

Jon Filius
BUILDING INFORMATION MODELER
Jon
Jon FIlius graduated Montana State University in 2011 with a M.A. in architecture and has been a part of the team at Hyalite since 2016. Jon has been involved in the drafting work for each of the working groups at Hyalite. His strong background in building information modeling (BIM) has been a key piece to the implementation of Revit software at Hyalite. In his spare time Jon enjoys playing hockey, woodworking, rafting and hunting.

Luke Gaugler
SURVEY AND GIS TECHNICIAN

Luke Gaugler graduated from the University of North Dakota in May of 2014 with a B.S. in geography and he has been with the firm since August of 2014. Luke is both a survey and a GIS technician and is experienced in all aspects of boundary, topographic, and bathometric survey techniques and he is well versed in the use of GPS, total station, and UAV (drone) equipment and the aerial imagery processing software. Luke is passionate about the use of and integration of CAD and GIS and has become our spatial analyst specialist and his work has become an essential part of our surveying-related deliverables.
